Leah Nickie, Owner & Aesthetician
A lifelong vegetarian, passionate organic gardener, athlete, and yogi, Leah Nickie was drawn to Boulder in 1995 for its natural beauty and active lifestyle. She, her husband Terry, and their son Eli embrace the Colorado way of life, enjoying activities like snowboarding, hiking, and camping in the Rocky Mountains.
Leah began her aesthetics journey under the mentorship of a master aesthetician with over 45 years of experience. She quickly rose to become the lead aesthetician at one of Colorado’s premier medical spas, where she worked for nearly five years. In 2010, she founded Leah Nickie Advanced Aesthetics. Dedicated to ongoing education, Leah not only continually expands her own expertise but also fosters the professional development of her team of talented aestheticians.
Leah is trained in the Vodder Method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Kobido Japanese Facial Massage, and holds master-level microneedling certification, as well as national certification as a laser technician. Her ever-growing skill set ensures she and her team remain at the forefront of advanced aesthetic practices.
Advanced Aesthetics is a reflection of Leah’s holistic approach to health, nature, and beauty. She is committed to using products that support a clean environment, choosing those made with sustainable practices and recyclable packaging. As a business owner, Leah supports local organizations that promote environmental stewardship and the health and well-being of women, children and minorities, contributing to these causes annually.

Katrine Binder, Aesthetician
Born and raised in Denmark, Katrine has always loved travel. She has been lucky to have explored many different parts of our globe. In 2007, her travels brought her to the US, Nevada, and Colorado's Front Range.
In 2017, Katrine channeled her passion for skin care and beauty into a career by attending the School of Medical and Botanical Aesthetics in Denver. She is passionate about working with clients to achieve their goals. She takes pride in her ability to listen and give honest, practical skin care advice. Katrine is always learning and acquiring advanced skills through continued education in skin care and medical aesthetics.
When Katrine isn't working with her clients to improve their skin health and vitality, she can be found taking long walks or hiking with her family. They hope to be able to travel to Europe again for a family visit soon!
Dr. Julie Seaman, Medical Director, Medical Aesthetics
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Seaman completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the Denver Health Medical Center, graduating in 1999. She went on to join Ergentus, a well-respected Emergency Medicine physician group, and has been a full partner there since 2002. She currently works as an Emergency Physician at Exempla Lutheran and Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Centers. She has over 16 years of experience with nerve blocks, complex wound repairs, and many other procedural skills.
Dr. Seaman started indulging her more artistic side at 40, enrolling in oil painting classes. This eventually led to an interest in the field of facial aesthetics. In 2012, she received specialty training and certification in the field of facial dermal filler and Botox® Cosmetic injections. She followed this up with advanced dermal filler training, becoming a skilled injector including the use of microcannula techniques.
Dr. Seaman is passionate about the science of facial aesthetics. She understands that small and specific changes to the face can make considerable differences in attractiveness, poise, and, hopefully, how clients feel. Dr. Seaman’s philosophy is simple: listen intensely, understand every cosmetic detail, and deliver safe and expert results using the best techniques available.
Carey Lafferty, Aesthetician
Carey has over eight years of Medical Aesthetics experience. With extensive training in multiple laser and skin rejuvenation procedures, she has cultivated a deep knowledge of functional age management of the skin. Carey is committed to providing every client with a safe and peaceful place to unwind, relax, and rejuvenate. Her goal is to deliver personalized, results-oriented treatments while also providing each client with the knowledge they need to maintain optimal skin health at home.
A native of San Diego, California, Carey moved to Colorado in 2003. She loves spending time with her two teenage sons, nurturing their never-ending enthusiasm for music and the arts. She also enjoys yoga, walking with her dog, motorcycle riding, going to the movies, and visiting her large extended family back home.
Making meaningful connections with her clients is one of Carey’s favorite aspects of this work.
Julie Adams, Aesthetician
From an early age, Julie (Jules) showed a strong interest in hair, skin, and nails. This led her to pursue a career in cosmetology. While in school, she discovered her passion aligned more with skincare, and she has been working as an aesthetician for over 15 years.
Julie’s career has included various roles in aesthetics, including working in all-inclusive spas, as an educator at the International Dermal Institute, and as a small business owner. She aims to make clients comfortable, relaxed, and informed while providing exceptional service and results. Education is important to Julie, and she enjoys learning about all things skin and health-related. Julie looks forward to connecting with you and working together to reach your skincare goals.
In 2022, Julie and her family followed their dream of moving closer to the mountains to enjoy more of the outdoors. You can find Julie hiking, skiing, or playing tourist around Colorado on her days off.
